I have been teaching in the Department of English at Sacred Heart College since 1994. I am an Associate Professor and the Head of the Department. I am a passionate and conscientious teacher and believe in imparting quality education to the students under my guidance. I am an approved research guide of MG University and currently six students pursue their research programme under my guidance.  I teach four papers at the Undergraduate Progrmme: An Introduction to the Study of Literature, Methodology of Humanities, Women’s Literature and Literary Criticism. I lecture on Renaissance and Enlightenment Writings, Literary Theory, Cultural Studies, Public Sphere and Medical Humanities to my postgraduate students. My areas of interest are Feminist Studies, Cultural Studies, Literary Theory, Medical Humanities and Writings of the Public Domain. I have published papers in National and International journals and one of my articles was on the IV Semester MA English syllabus of MG University for five years. The same article is prescribed for the IV Semester MA English students of Sacred Heart College in the revised syllabus of 2019.  I have completed a minor project on “Posthumanism” with a research grant of Rs 1.2 lakh from the UGC.

My academic and research credentials have always enabled me to take up other serious responsibilities in the College. I have been working very closely with my colleagues and the Management in benchmarking and enhancing the quality of the academic and non-academic activities of the College. I have been associating with the NAAC accreditation process ever since it’s introduction in the country in 1999 and have coordinated four NAAC reports including the present one which is being uploaded at the moment. I also coordinate the IQAC and the International office of the institution.
